The Washington Times: Media, Politicos, & Celebs at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner

White House Correspondents' Dinner
On Saturday evening, I covered one of my favorite nights of the year: the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner at the Washington Hilton. This annual event brings together the Washington media, their political sources, and now, an assortment of Hollywood celebrities from George Clooney and the stars of Modern Family to Kim Kardashian and Lindsay Lohan. The event has received some criticism lately because it has evolved from being an event primarily for White House correspondents and their sources, to full weekend of competition to snag the most buzz-worthy celebrities for your table or party. But, it’s a fun weekend and an opportunity to shine the spotlight on some of Washington’s best journalists who, in this era of unfiltered blogging, are doing important work. While I’ve attended the dinner and the associated festivities in the past, this year, I covered it for the Washington Times. The newspaper had some special guests, including some esteemed public servants and members of the military, as well as Uggie from The Artist, who told me about his pooch-sized tuxedo. Of course, the dinner provides an opportunity for a little high-fashion to make its way to Washington, so here are some of my favorite outfits of the evening.

P.S. I would have liked to include more journalists in the fashion round-up. Alas, I had few photos from which to choose…
